so we got this beauty as
one of our wedding gifts...we've been coveting it for years and had all
these plans for it....husband has installed it in the kitchen, but
since i've joined ww, there was little to no occasion to use it...you
can't ever win, i know....
however, my co-worker is coming to visit in a couple of weeks with her
baby daughter, so there's a chance to bake...i'll be making cookies and
finger sandwiches and cheesecake, oh my...
plus, even though we aren't hosting thanksgiving this year, i am sure
my mom (who is) won't refuse pies and cakes we bring...that's another
chance to bake, but not eat the products necessarily...plus, i've been
really intent on experimenting with desserts for my vegan brother and
will be probably throwing a vegan chocolate tofu pie into the mix...
isn't it sad: we have soooooooooooo much fun baking and cooking, but can't eat much of it at all....
still, i don't intend to have more than just one slice of pie at
thanksgiving...i know, that's the holy grail of all meals and comes
only once a year, but i don't think this little overachiever that's me
could handle a gain well just yet....i'm afraid it would throw me
off...and then some...

i would pay good money for a good foot massage right now. i worked out yesterday - 30 min on the elliptical machine and i DID warm up....BUT, as of recent, every time i work out, something different hurts the next morning....this time it's the ball of my right foot *shakes head*
i'm up very early...well, for a sunday. i just simply woke up by myself - i guess that means i've had enough sleep... but, is there such a thing as enough sleep?
speaking of workouts and sleep: i have this plan, as a matter of fact, i've had it for weeks now. i thoretically could go to the gym and work out and still end up at work at a decent time all the while not disturbing any of my other morning rituals, i.e. coffee and internet, if i only could wake up at 4:30am every day...*sigh*...and then i could go to some of the classes my gym has to offer after work...it's an ideal plan, i just never implement it...meh...is there such a thing as continuous will power? so far, i've only had bursts of it... |

Family is most important in your life.
Having a high focus on family indicates that you are a loving and
nurturing person. You want to have a nice big family of your own, and
you are very close with your siblings and parents.

writing the thank-you notes. googling for thank you notes etiquette gave me a tension headache. according to some sites, i am about 2.5 months late on the thank you notes...*gasp*...but i wanted pretty ones with pictures and the photographer took her sweet time and about seven weeks....*sniffles*....ugh, i must be the rudest bride in history of mankind... |

my god, i struggled today something terrible! i was so hungry all day and had no means of getting anything low in points to tie me over until the meal time. however, i am very glad that i refused still steaming hot fried clams and crab cakes that were offered to me at work while i was so hungry nor did i get anything from the vending machines...ww definitely helps with the power to say no, and then some. that's awesome, really! never had THAT power before!
i usually ignore the fact that i have the flex points - at least as long as i am getting used to the program and use them to fix any point "mistakes" i may make, i.e. miscalculations and similar...but tonight i used 3 of them on purpose and treated myself to half a muffin - and i feel so much better now - i rewarded myself for successfully getting through all that struggle today...i savored every bite, just last month that 1/2 muffin would have been just the beginning of a feast...
speaking of flex points - this week is the first time i would have a serious reason to use them - and that's my birthday. thankfully, my traditional b-day dinner - sushi - is amazingly low on points, so i may not even need them for the b-day dinner! b-day cake is a whole different story, though. my husband is very much into cooking and baking and traditionally spoils me rotten with food, especially on my b-day...this year he wanted to make his signature cheesecake, a pie, cookies, and creme brulee...all for me! just a month ago, i soooooooo would've let it happen, since all of these goodies are to die for...BUT...this year i had no problem telling him that he should spread it out a little. i am letting him make the lime cheesecake and will have just ONE slice of it - he can have as much he wants to and the rest will be brought to my parents and stays there. the (one) pie will be moved to thanksgiving, (one kind of) cookies to christmas, and (one bathc) creme brulee to new years. that way i have a reasonable shot at staying within the points for the holidays, learn how to remain in control even with amazing food around, and my sweetie gets to bake to his heart's content.

| | refreshed | ] | OMG, i slept until quarter of ELEVEN (!!!) on our new bed/mattress. i was turning any way i wanted to (major problem on our old bed) and apparently i missed a huge thunderstorm - SLEPT right thru it all! wahahaha! i woke up just a tiny touch sore, but that's not even to be compared to all previous mornings...i don't remember sleeping past seven thirty in months! |

| [ | mood |
| | dirty | ] | ok, time for another weigh-in...this time i can't tell which way will the numbers go...meh... but whatever will be, will be...i trust ww, and will keep playing by the rules!
as we speak..erm, type...husband is setting up our new bed and our new mattress is in the living room, too...i woke up with such a pain in my back as if someone has been beating me up with a bat across my lower back all night long, so i have HIGH hopes for our new sleeping arrangements. they better be amazing! plus, losing weight will help with the back pain, i am absolutely sure of that!
on a separate note, i must cook this weekend! it's critical! if i want to be a ww, i must have my own food, cooked to specifications, and be in control. not having anything to bring for lunch all week totally kicked my @$$ this week - i ate subs with veggies, but that gets old after a while, and struggled otherwise to stay within my points. must. cook. good. stuff. especially coz i can. husband and i are both into cooking very much...
which reminds me of my two newest cookbook purchases....must post links later...now, it's shower time! |

| | tired | ] | oh wow, our first trip to ikea...we must've walked some 5 miles or so in the store tonight...we finally bought ourselves a bed and two night stands (well kinda) and we splurged on the occasional table, too...and we got this extremely weird lamp
for my mother in law who loves weird looking lamps. that's one of her
x-mas presents....(i never shopped so early for gifts than this year).
my hunny and i have a new favorite store - we are so going back on sunday...

| [ | mood |
| | awake | ] | those that can, should...and by that i mean going to the gym...the other day, when i first pulled the muscle in my back, i would have paid $1000 just to be able to get out of bed and be pain free again. i seriously thought that i will be skipping any regular activity for days and will see the interior of a local ER as early as that night. that experience totally taught me a lesson - so if i can, i.e. i'm not in pain, i should... go to the gym and strenghten my back, so days like last saturday don't happen again... |

i may sound like oprah right now, but here are a few things i think are great:
interesting
fresh and creamy
perfect for a long winter night, yum...
and i can't wait to get my hands on these:
i wonder how they are...well, at least the first three...
in other news, i am up at least 1 1/2 hour before i actively need to be
up, because i can't lie on our bed any longer and the right side of my
back is having one big cramp fest! it is kinda creepy to be up this
early, since it's still very dark, with a full moon outside, kinda
windy, so one can see all the shadows of trees moving
*shudders*...
i should go make my favorite morning treat - my coffee...

been wanting to see the show for years and when they finally ended up
touring in our neck o' the woods, i jumped at those tickets, baby (it
totally helps that we are not planning that wedding anymore and
spending money on ribbons and such...and we actually have time to go
see stuff)...so anyways, the show was spectacular...we loved it...and
man alive, that was some serious dancing...
in addition to my previous post about pottery barn....this is what i've been coveting as of recent...*covet, covet*

| | the sound rain outside | ] | i hate being woken up from a nap...i went to bed to begin with because i needed it, but also beacuse i knew i could afford it time-wise, and i sure know i will wake up when i've had enough...now, it's annoying enough when a phone wakes you up and such, but when your husband wakes you up, that's just a sin...and then he wakes you up from not just any randomnap, he wakes you up from the queen mother of all naps on a RAINY SATURDAY AFTERNOON...which is my absolute favorite and i am having one of the most beautiful dreams of my life, which essentialy was a story and involved just magical, magical, colorful scenes, and now i won't know what happens in the end...now, that qualifies for a mini mortal sin, right there!
honey. it. is. one. of. my. biggest. pet. peeves. to. be woken. up. from. a. nap.
now you got yourself a cranky wife...
on a bright side, i love rainy days...so i guess it's ok he woke me up so i enjoy the rain by that little bit of daylight there is... |

something about seeing things from my life in boxes that totally puts
me under pressure...i was just throwing stuff in boxes towards the
end..i'll sort out some of that stuff in the new area...at least i'm ok
with that part of the moving game (provided time is no factor)... |
